AWANA Clubs International began in 1950 and was begun at CBC in 1979. The goal of AWANA is to reach boys and girls for Christ and train them to serve Him. The AWANA program is distinctively Christian and Bible-centered. AWANA does not exclude kids based on their religious affiliation. The club meetings are open to all.

AWANA consists of 4 clubs for various ages: PugglesCubbiesSparks and TNT.
The Puggles program, (ages 2-3 year olds), is an abbreviated introduction to Awana.  Parents stay with their children the entire club meeting, which consists of Bible story time, singing, games and a snack time. The club starts at 6:30pm and ends at 7:30pm.

Our Cubbies program (ages 3 – pre K) starts at 6:30pm and ends at 8pm. The program includes singing and Bible story activities, a time for games, craft time and snack. The children will have an opportunity to recite memory verses that they are learning at home with their parents.

The Sparks and TNT clubs start at 6:15pm and end at 8pm. The evening consists of handbook time, where your child will have an opportunity to recite memory verses from the Bible, discuss God’s word and be encouraged by the AWANA leaders to strive to please God in each and every circumstance of their lives. The second segment of the evening will be game time; where we play all sorts of fun games, while trying to develop Christ-like attitudes (such as humility, gentleness, meekness, goodness, self-control, kindness, etc.) in a highly competitive environment. Every evening is concluded with a large group time, where a leader teaches a biblical lesson and each child will have an opportunity to ask questions or share a comment. Our curriculum for the year includes the life of Jesus Christ, missionaries and heroes of the faith and letters to the new testament churches. In addition, we have a hike (weather permitting) and AWANA grand prix car races.

The AWANA program is designed to partner with parents in the spiritual nourishment of their children. It is a fundamental principle of any children’s ministry at Christ Bible Church: we are not striving to replace parents nor do we try to compete with parents for the nourishment and spiritual development of the children. It is God’s given responsibility for parents to raise and influence their children. We are coming alongside of you to assist you in this important task. The AWANA program requires parents’ participation (whether it is directly in the club, like in Puggles, or at home).
