Nothing is by accident or random chance.  There is a higher power and he has a name.  Yahweh is the name of God in the Old Testament.  He has created everything and established natural laws (e.g., gravity) by which the universe operates.  The crown of his creation is people, who are created in his likeness and image; animals, plants and trees are created but do not have a soul that will exist forever.  The reason people are created in God’s image and likeness is for a relationship with him, their Creator.  How does man know that he is different from all other creation?  The law written on the heart (Rom 2:14-16), and an internal knowledge that God exists (1:18-20).  Only man is able to have an awareness of his own existence because of those two facts.  Animals, plants and trees are created by God to bring a measure of relief, joy and food for living.  You (a person), exist to worship your Creator.
